We at the Gin Passport have come to the conclusion that you can classify the botanicals, or the garnish, in three different categories:

  1. Citrus
  2. Berries
  3. Greens & Herbs

Citrus – lemon, orange, lime, naartjie and so on.  The gin is infused with only the outer layer of the skin, because of its oils.  For garnish, use the whole wedge if you like 🙂

Berries – Juniper (obviously!), strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, mulberries – basically if it has ‘berry’ in the name, USE IT! 🙂

Gin Passport tip!

Strawberries go really well with mint!

Greens and/or herbs – basil, rosemary, lavender and mint are the main ones we’ve picked so far.  Cucumbers also a big favourite.

Here are some beautiful gin and tonic cocktails from all over the internet to serve as inspiration.
